One of the most expensive wedding ever was the marriage of Sheik Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum's son to Princess Salama in Dubai in May of 1981. It cost a staggering $44 million.

Actually though this wedding is reportedly the most expensive even surpassing Princess Salama's 44 million dollar wedding to a tune reported from 60 to 90 million dollars.
